DYEING PROCESS
Another important unplanned component of my heuristic arts-based research was the process of dyeing a piece of blanket that I first tore into different pieces.
Although I also utilized coffee, curcuma, beets and hibiscus flowers, I have only included pictures from the avocados and onions that I used since they revealed more insight for me. Working with seeds and skins became symbolic for me of how important it is to acknowledge that race is a social construction. It was also a call to reconnect with my soul, mind and body.
